1. Require a hike, in Stone Park
There are some pretty great spots to travel hiking or camping in our very own State Stone Park. The type preserve is filled with adventure, and naturally, wild furry creatures we all love. There are multiple campground sites and trails that any outdoors men wouldn’t mind to learn. Stone park even carries a beautiful place to grill out where you can picnic. Look at Turtle Pond and enjoy the rest of your day outside.
2. Catch a show
Our personal Sioux City Community theater and our Shot in the Dark theater always has something up their sleeve. It is possible to go catch a live show and watch local talent in stage. From American Idiot, to Heather’s, to Shrek the musical, they’ve got all of it at a reasonable price.
3. Grab a bite to nibble on at any kind of our local restaurants.
We have a fun number of restaurants which can be only in Sioux City or maybe in the surrounding tri-state area. Go grab a good mug of coffee at either Jitters (they already have the best donuts) or Stone Bru. Or, if you’re looking to have lunch somewhere take a look at our new Blue Cafe. They may have live music plus some pretty decent food. Try the Kale chips!
4. Buy some fresh vegatables and fruits in the Farmers Market
Every Wednesday and Saturday morning the farmers market is placed near the Tyson Events Center. Local farmers and growers visit sell us a selection of their delicious fresh produce. But fruits and vegetables aren’t the sole things you could buy. You may also get some good bottles of local honey, bags of local coffee, and fun accessories produced by the individuals of Sioux City. Try a cup of Rosie’s cold brew coffee. It is actually literally to die for. oh, and when they’re there, The Birds and the Bees honey is super yummy.
5. Check out Bacon Creek
Bacon Creek has various small parks, your dog park, plus a trail that loops around the creek. It’s an enjoyable spot to step out in the boat, fish, go for a walk, have a small get together, or perhaps to take your dog over to socialize along with other dogs. You can grab some bratwurst, some buns, a 6-pack, and view the kids play at the park as you grill out dinner.
6. If they’re in the city, proceed to the Carnival
From June 1st-10th Summer fest is happening in things to do in sioux city and you will go to the carnival! Go ride some super fun and scary rides and simply have some fun. You may also attempt to impress your date by winning them a giant stuffed animal at any of their door prize games.
7. Have a Fire from the river
There are some spots in Sioux City to find small beaches near the river. You can create a fire and go fishing on a warm summer night. It’s really a fun time and energy to hangout with friends and family. It’s a favorite action to take on the fourth of July. Go grab some fire works and also have a show and a fire.
8. Go see a Movie in the Park
Take your loved ones out, or have a few friends, to view free movies from the park. They movies are positioned within the bandshell at Grandview Park. Go on a blanket, some snacks, plus a buddy. They begin June 18th and operate on select Saturday nights til August 13th.
9. Explore Downtown
Though our downtown might be around the smaller side we all do have a great deal to offer. We have now some fun little antique stores, game stores, and restaurants. Look into the Whistler shop and purchase a few things with a bit of history linked to them, grab a bite to consume at one of our local Italian restaurants, Trattoria Fresco, or go tune in to some live music at Vangarde Arts.
10. Go to Saturday from the Park
Every fourth of July weekend we have a free music festival. Artists arrived at preform within the bandshell and you will find a lot of little kiosks waiting so that you can go and acquire something cool. Every kiosk is rented out by local or traveling artists who happen to be show casing their particular hand made items. This coming year the difficult Rock is setting the stage with a few good music as well as the people of Sioux city are bringing the great vibes plus some pretty decent food.
